The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is One Catch Closer to Finding a Cure
Join Us
September 9-10, 2013
The 6th Annual Redbone @ Large Lower Niagara Sport Fishing Challenge presented by WTS, Inc. to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be held on September 9-10, 2013. The tournament is held in a small historic town in Lewiston, NY. Gary P. Hall co-founder of WTS, Inc. is an avid fisherman that brought the tournament to his backyard because of this dedication to finding a cure. This two day fishing tournament is a catch-and-release tournament held every year for the two goals of presenting guests with a fabulous event while raising money for a great cause. Captains, anglers and guests will enjoy a wonderful evening on Monday, September 9th at the Niagara Falls Country Club. The night will consist of a silent and live auction along with a gourmet sit down dinner and great program. This event is a fun way to combine the spirit and sport of fishing with the passion and conviction of those fighting to "Catch a Cure" for CF.
In 2012, there were 17 boats that competed for awards and bragging rights. After two days of fishing it was all over but with Captain Vince Pierleoni putting his knowledge of the local fishery into high gear he put Hazmat Environmental in the lead with 5,010. Amstar of WNY came in second with an astonishing 3,050 points with Captain Jeff Draper on deck and Buzzi Unicem USA came in 3rd with 2,550 points with Captain Bruce Blakelock.
In the end, it was the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as the big winner, raising over $118,000 at the 5th Annual. Gary was very humbled by the generosity of the participants who have supported this tournament which has raised over $448,000 since 2008.
