Redbone cancels S.L.A.M Tournament in Key West set for September 11-13, 2020

After talking to host venues, Susan Ellis of Redbone Celebrity Tournaments, Inc. said she has no choice but to cancel the Robert James Sales S.L.A.M. Celebrity Tournament set for September 11-13. Neither the Doubletree Resort nor the Hurricane Hole can host Redbone participants and adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines that are in place in Key West.

"With the frightening surge of the pandemic in the Keys, I also can’t in good conscience bring folks together," said Ellis of Islamorada.

Prospects for future Redbone events will be determined at a later date. Stay tuned through its website, www.redbone.org.

The Redbone, founded in Islamorada in 1988, hosts tournaments worldwide and features a saltwater art gallery and retail store near mile marker 82 oceanside, has contributed more than $23 million toward cystic fibrosis research.
